New Year, new quarter

So it's New Year's Eve tonight! I guess that should be something to be excited about. I think it's going to be a pretty quiet night here for me and the animals. I've actually got the next two + days off, totalling four days in all counting yesterday and today. I was a little unsure of having so many days off and keeping myself occupied. That hasn't really been a problem so far. I would have liked to have gotten out of town for a few days, but this time off was given to me on a rather short notice so making any real travel plans was not possible. I wouldn't mind going out for a day trip. Maybe I'll look into that tomorrow or Wednesday. Right

Winter breaking it!

I can't believe two weeks of winter break have already passed! Initially it was a little slow moving, but now the days are passing by rather quickly. I've been working on a new painting. It's a little odd for me, process-wise. I was looking at some photos I had taken in Waycross earlier this year and found something I liked, printed it and next thing I know I'm gesso-ing it to a canvas, slapping other material and paints on it too! It's still coming along and in a completely random and hap-hazzard fashion. Which is really fun! Most of what I do is always planned out somehow with sketches and color roughs. yes, i took your command...uhh... advice and scanned some sketchbook pages. I worked a bit more on the illustration the other night, but nothing too concrete at this point. Will post progress on that when I can.

good to hear from you. glad to hear the family is ok. My family is doing alright though they were getting a lot of flooding up north. but it seems to be drying up now.
